Liam Payne, one-fifth of One Direction, recently gave a video preview for the video “Midnight Memories,” which will be the lead single for their upcoming album, which has the same name.
“Our next single is going to be ‘Midnight Memories,’ which is one of the songs I wrote with Louis [Tomlinson],” he said in a video uploaded Jan. 28.
He added: “This is the first song we wrote on the album, so it kind of paved the way for the whole album’s sound and the way it all changed. … It’s all about the midnight memories, everybody’s got ‘em, so I hope you enjoy it.
Payne and other band member Louis Tomlinson said they helped write the track.
Tomlinson also wrote on Twitter: “Getting really excited to start writing for the next record :)”
The video for the new single will come out Friday.
