Louis Tomlinson, the One Direction star, had his Doncaster Rovers reserves debut this week, but his fellow bandmates were not there.
The Metro tabloid reported that a large number of One Direction fans were at the debut, but the other One Direction members weren’t there.
A crowd of around 5,000 fans when the Rovers played Rotherham on Wednesday, reported CNN.
“Just pulling on the shirt is just a boyhood dream,” he said via soccer club’s official website.
“It’s absolutely amazing, those boys get to do that every week and it really is such an honor to be involved in a club, where I spent most of my childhood going down to the games,” he wrote.
A man identified only as Mickey, who is a diehard Rovers supporter, said that the massive crowd is “only ‘cos he’s here.”
“Most games you can count the crowd on the fingers of one hand,” he said, according to the Telegraph.
When Tomlinson was announced, the Telegraph reported that the cheering was deafening.
The Rovers ended in a 0-0 draw with Rotherham.
Tomlinson got into in a deal with the club last summer to aid Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
