The man who attempted to blackmail David Letterman pled guilty on Tuesday in Manhattan.

Robert Halderman pled guilty to second-degree grand larceny charges, according to Reuters. Halderman worked as a producer for CBS, who broadcasts the Late Show with David Letter. He will get six months in prison when convicted, 1,000 hours of community service, and five months of probation.

Halderman attempted to blackmail Letterman for $2 million because he knew about Letterman’s sexcapades with his staff. When Letterman heard this, he told authorities about the alleged blackmailing and revealed that he had affairs with his staff on television.

Halderman was involved in the production of the CBS program “48 Hours Mystery.” His final sentencing will take place in May.
