On the eve of his first NBA Finals game as a member of the Miami Heat, star forward LeBron James weighed in on the resignation of former Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel. James said in an interview with ESPN, “Coach Tressel’s done some great things for the university. It is unfortunate about the allegations that have come out in the past year.”
LeBron James, an Ohio native and supporter of Ohio State, reflected on the impact Tressel’s departure will have on the team. “Everyone in Columbus and Ohio knows how important he was for the university. I wish him the best.”
James seemed optimistic of the university’s future in the ESPN interview. “Hopefully the university will come back, it’s one of the best universities we have in the America.”
LeBron James, who has been spotted on the side lines of Ohio State football games, refused to comment on his relationship with suspended Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor. Pryor was suspended for his alleged involvement in exchanging memorabilia for tattoos.
