A tornado touched down near Lebanon, Indiana on Sunday, damaging 20 houses and destroying 7 others.
A photo from the local office of the National Weather Service shows a tornado right before it went into the town.
The tornado hit Starbucks and a building across from CNH, said Maddy Smith, a local, via Twitter.
The photo she shared shows a car flipped onto its side on the sidewalk in front of the store and the building severely damaged, although it is still standing.
Businesses in the Lebanon Industrial Park were damaged by the tornado, the Lebanon Police Department told the Indianapolis Star.
Police said that two people were injured after a semitrailer truck was flipped by high winds onto I-65 from the parking lot at the Flying J Truck Stop.
Gov. Mike Pence said 12 counties reported either tornadoes or damage after the initial line of storms had traveled midway across Indiana.
“Significant damage has been reported in Lebanon, Indiana, and Washington, Indiana,” Pence said.
The Stokes School ws open as a shelter to anyone displaced by the tornado but closed because everyone who needed shelter found it with family or friends, reported the Lebanon Reporter. The town’s police department said that 27 homes were damaged and seven of those were deemed non-livable.
