Reports of gunfire at LAX, or the Los Angeles airport, turned out to be a car crash on Friday night.

At least one terminal was evacuated after witnesses reported a loud noise and police said they received multiple reports of gunfire.

People at the airport said that police officers came in with guns drawn.

“I came off plane and got to ticket counter before I hear yelling and everyone running around. People jumping over chairs,” said Steve Doty via Twitter. “So we run back toward plane. Hang for 5mins. Come out. Police w guns drawn. Then we hide behind counter again before being evacuated.”

But the airport’s police later said that no shots were fired at Terminal 5 as reported, and there was a traffic collision only.
