NEW YORK—It may have been the last day of summer, at least unofficially, but you wouldn’t have guessed it at Central Park as New Yorkers and tourists came out on Monday to boat, sunbath, rollerblade, and bike by the thousands.

On a picture-perfect day with clear blue skies and warm summer sunshine, the day off work in the park was as relaxing a day as one could hope for. Below we feature a few photos of Labor Day 2008 in Central Park.
