More than 20 people have been killed and more than 100 injured in a shooting near the Mandalay Bay Casino, according to a Las Vegas sheriff, Fox News reported.

The shooting started during a country music concert. The gunman was killed by police, who are now searching for a companion named Marilou Danley.

The shooter fired at people from a room inside the casino, police said.

Police described Marilou Danley as an Asian female of about 4 feet 11 inches tall and 111 pounds. Police asked the public to look out for a Hyundai with Nevada plate 114B40 and a Chrysler with Nevada plate 19D401.

The first calls reporting a shooter came in 10:08 p.m.

Country singer James Aldean was performing the last song of his concert when the shots rang out, Fox News reported. Concertgoers initially thought that firecrackers went off. When the shots continued people started yelling to each other to get down and Aldean stopped singing.

“It sounded like a machine gun,” one vendor told Fox News. “It sounded like more than one machine gun.”

Police killed the gunman on the 32nd floor of the hotel.

Some of the people attending the concert stayed behind to help the injured.

“Everybody I saw breathing, I helped.” a concertgoer told Fox News.

The music stopped temporarily and restarted again, before another round of pops was heard, according to Kodiak Yazzi, 36. More than 40,000 people attended the concert. As the crowd began to flee, Yazzi took cover and saw flashes of light coming from the Mandalay Bay Casino tower.

The entire area is on lockdown by police. All clubs and casinos have been shut down.

A spokeswoman for the University Medical Center said that the hospital was taking in injured people.

A concertgoer named Zack told Fox News that he saw his sister get shot in the head.

“Gun shots!!! Vegas. Pray to god,” country singer Jack Owen wrote on Twitter. “Love you guys. Love you Pearl.”
