A nuclear density gauge fell off a pickup truck in Las Vegas, prompting police to ask the public in finding it. If tampered with, the gauge could leak radiation.
The gauge fell off a truck close to Charleston and Lamb boulevard Tuesday, 8 News Now reported. It said the device is around 14 inches by 9 inches.
It has a keypad display and a metal probe attached.
The gauge is labeled as “radioactive” and has the radiation symbol.
The manufacturer’s name is Campbell Pacific Nuclear, or CPN, according to the Las Vegas Sun.
It weighs around 31 pounds.
Police told Fox Vegas that the gauge does not present a widespread safety hazard.
