Lance West, a local reporter with KFOR-TV in Oklahoma, broke down in tears when he was covering the destruction left by the tornado on Monday.

West was speaking live from Moore, Okla., covering the tornado damage that destroyed two schools, countless homes, and killed at least 24 people.

A number of people were killed in Plaza Towers Elementary School, which was essentially leveled by the tornado. The National Weather Service said the tornado was categorized as an EF-4, with winds in excess of 200 miles per hour.

In front of a school in Moore, West couldn’t hold back his tears on Monday.

“I’ve never seen anything like this ... this is without question the most horrific ...,” Moore said, before his voice started cracking.
