She tweeted her “...inaugural message (sent while changing backstage at The Monster Ball in Tacoma) from Tween Gaga” after she accomplished the feat on Saturday.
“Hello world, this is Lady Gaga, Queen of Twitter,” she said amid Disney-like dubbed sounds as she twirled a wand backstage in a YouTube.com video that had 371,000 views on Monday.
“Thank you for beginning my reign as Twitter queen.”
Other people with more than five million Twitter followers include Ellen DeGeneres, President Barack Obama, and Ashton Kutcher.
Lady Gaga, a 24-year-old New York City native, added that she would not take part in “celebrity online shenanigans.”
