Kyle Korver is on fire with his 3-point streak. The Atlanta Hawks shooting guard is on his way to breaking the NBA record for most consecutive games with a three-pointer.

The streak goes all the way back to last season during the Hawks second game.

Korver, a graduate of Creighton University, tied the record on December 4. He’s now made a 3-pointer in 89 straight games.

Today, Friday, he will have a chance to break the record against the Cleveland Cavilers.

Korver is on fire this year, making 51.8 percent of his 3-pointers overall. He was 45.9 overall last year.

The record is currently held by Dana Barros, who set it in 1996, reported Sports Illustrated. No other player has come close, with Peja Stojakovic at 62 and Rashard Lewis at 56 being the closest.
