Iconic camera company, Kodak, has revealed its plans to launch an Android smartphone at CES 2015 in Las Vegas next month.

It has been two years since the American camera-maker filed for bankruptcy and has stepped out of camera and film manufacturing as well. The company has even offloaded thousands of imaging patents to keep afloat. Now, it seems Kodak wants to use its familiar brand on Android powered smartphones, with the first of its devices launching at CES and more to follow later.

According to Kodak, imaging will be a major focus with their first smartphone and will have “best-in-class image management software and features.” The device is said to have a good design matched with a customized UI though we'll have to wait until we actually see it to make a judgment call on that.

The manufacturing of Kodak’s devices will be handled by UK’s Bullitt Group, known for the CAT B15 Rugged smartphone. The firm will be developing smartphones, tablets and connected cameras for Kodak which will be launched throughout next year.
