Salinas kindergarteners and their families will have a chance to get to know their public library system when mobile library services come to two branch libraries.

Library officials said mobile library services will make stops at the Cesar Chavez Library Sept. 26, from 6 to 7 p.m. and at the John Steinbeck Library on Sept. 28, from 6 to 7 p.m.

The stops are part of the Kinder Nights program, which aims to introduce the library system to families and allow them to have a night of fun.

Library officials said each night kids can enjoy crafts, snacks, prizes and a visit from Elephant and Piggie, characters from a series of books by the same name.
