Kim Novak, the star of the 1958 classic movie “Vertigo,” has been diagnosed with breast cancer, her manager told the Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.
“It was caught early by a routine yearly mammogram and is undergoing treatment,” Sue Cameron said, according to the Reporter. “All her doctors say she is in fantastic physical shape and should recover very well.”
The 77-year-old actress also had roles in movies like “Pal Joey” and “Bell, Book and Candle.” The last movie she appeared in was “Liebestraum” in 1991, but her scenes were cut.
Novak has since retired and taken up oil painting, and currently lives in Oregon.
