Kim Kardashian has taken legal action against an entertainment website after it claimed in a series of articles that she fabricated the Paris jewelry heist.

The lawsuit filed in federal court in New York on Oct. 11 argues that MediaTakeOut and its founder Fred Mwangaguhunga published fictitious articles about the events that transpired on Oct. 3, reported the Los Angeles Times.

According to court documents, the articles referred to Kardashian as a thief and liar and were published “without any factual support whatsoever, that Kardashian faked the robbery, lied about the violent assault, and then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to bilk her carrier out of millions of dollars.”

The complaint said the “malicious publication of the articles, which paint the victim of a serious crime as a criminal herself, is libelous.”

Kardashian asked that Mwangaguhunga publish a retraction and an apology “for calling her a liar and a criminal,” which he allegedly refused. As of Oct. 12, the articles aren’t on the website.

Known for its clickbait headlines and outlandish stories, MediaTakeOut has become one of the most trafficked gossip websites in the world.

Kardashian is the second reality star to take legal action against Mwangaguhunga, who is a former corporate lawyer.

In 2011, former “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada filed a lawsuit against MediaTakeOut, claiming the website published a false article that suggested she cheated on her then-fiancé, former NFL player Chad Ochocinco with his friend, Terrell Owens. The article has since been removed from the site.

According to reports, Kardashian was the victim of an armed home invasion while she attended Paris Fashion Week over a week ago. Five men stormed her private residence and tied the reality star up before they went away with millions of dollars worth of jewelry—including her upgraded Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring.

Kardashian immediately left Paris and has since been holed up in her Los Angeles home.

The men are still at large as the investigation into the robbery continues.
