Kid Rock slammed Justin Bieber this week.
“Tell me if this is wrong,” Kid Rock said to Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show on Wednesday. “Justin Bieber [is] 100 percent like watching Vanilla Ice all over again. It’s exactly the same.”
However, it’s worth pointing out that Bieber has had several No. 1 songs and albums on Billboard’s lists. Vanilla Ice only had one, with 1990’s “Ice Ice Baby,” which was arguably a bigger hit than any of Bieber’s songs. It’s also worth noting that the two produce different genres of music.
“As soon as Bieber has a hit, he’ll be like Vanilla Ice, then,” Kid Rock said.
“The kid’s young, he’s got some money, he’s got the world in his hands, it’s just kind of sad to see him go down this trajectory,” he elaborated. “It’s going to be a very long ride down. We all know the story. I kind of feel for the kid, to be honest with you.”
Rock was on Howard Stern to promote his $20 concert tour.
Stern agreed with Kid Rock, saying that Bieber is “screwing up.”
