Khushwant Singh, a noted Indian writer and poet, died at age 99 on Thursday.

Singh is described as one of the country’s best-known writers. He founded the media outlet Yojana, and also served as an editor at the Illustrated Weekly of India, the National Herald, and the Hindustan Times.

His poems are also well-known. 

He also wrote books, including the novel “Sunset Club” and non-fiction works. He wrote his autobiography, “Truth, Love, and a Little Malice,” which was published in 2002, reported NDTV.

Singh also served as a member of Parliament from 1980 to 1986.
