A teacher in Kentucky was arrested this week after allegedly snorting a pill in her classroom.

The incident took place around 1 p.m. at the Menifee County Elementary/Middle School in Frenchburg.

Multiple students reported seeing Cherish Rednour, 41, crush a pill with a credit card before making a line then snorting the crushed pill.

Students said Rednour then slumped over her desk and appeared to have trouble staying awake, reported LEX 18.

Rednour was summoned to the principal’s office after sheriff’s deputies arrived.

She was subjected to several field sobriety tests and was arrested shortly thereafter.

Deputies found white residue on her desk and a credit card with residue and a tampon applicator that resembled a cut straw, reported WKYT.

Rednour has been charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Superintendent Timothy Spencer said that Rednour has been suspended pending further investigation.

Rednour is a first-year employee at the school.

According to her Facebook page, Rednour teaches the 8th grade in the school.

Multiple posts on the page reference how much Rednour enjoyed her job. At one point, she said that she and her co-workers were a family and that they “have absolute hearts of gold.”

It appears that Rednour has a daughter who attends the school.

Other than listing her employment in Menifee County, Rednour listed no work or education history on the social media website.
