Kentucky Number One in Latest AP Poll

The Kentucky Wildcats (6-0) are the new number one team, at least for this week. Calipari’s Wildcats moved up from their second-place ranking following North Carolina’s (5-1) 90-80 loss to UNLV Saturday in Las Vegas. The Tar Heels tumbled to the number five spot and unranked UNLV moved to No. 18.

The Wildcats and Tarheels will meet this Saturday at Rupp Arena.

Kentucky is followed in the rankings by Ohio State, Duke, and Syracuse. Louisville, Baylor, UConn, Wisconsin, Florida round out the top ten.

The defending champion Huskies fell four spots in the polls following their 68-63 loss to Central Florida Saturday.

Memphis (2-2) dropped from 8th to 22nd following following losses to Michigan and Georgetown in the Maui Classic, while surprising Missouri jumped to 13th following blowout wins over Notre Dame and California.
