Kenny Miles, a former University of South Carolina (USC) Gamecocks running back, was reportedly shot.
Miles was taken by emergency crews to a local hospital in Richland County, South Carolina, on Monday, reported WISTV.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that he was shot.
“Just after 1 o’clock, there was a robbery that took place,” sheriff’s department spokesperson Curtis Wilson told the station. “We understand that the individual then shot Kenny in the upper body.”
The shooting apparently took place near a business park.
Other details about the shooting were not available.
According to The State, his injuries were initially considered life-threatening.
