Clothing company Kenneth Cole sent out a tweet on Thursday that wasn’t in good taste, according to people responding to the tweet.

In reference to the ongoing debate in the United States on whether to send troops to Syria or not, the company sent out a tweet saying: “‘Boots on the ground’ or not, let’s not forget about sandals, pumps and loagers. #Footwear”

The tweet didn’t sit well with many people.

Heather Whaling said: “Mocking war to sell fashion? Really?”

“Not funny or clever. Stop,” said another person, Sarah Rappaport.

“How many seconds until he deletes?” asked Daniel Dale.

Not everyone agreed, though.

“Ok so every movie that romanticizes war is cool, but one tweet/pun is reprehensible #logicfail,” said Michael Chabot.
