Kelly Rowland cries: The singer had to stop in the middle of a song while performing over the weekend in Washington D.C. because she was overwhelmed with emotion.
Rowland was singing her new single “Dirty Laundry,” which addresses relationships with abusive boyfriends and her jealousy of fellow singer Beyonce after Beyonce’s success.
“Doing this song for me was so therapeutic,” she said, before the song, according to US Weekly. “Honesty, like my mama always says, is always the best policy.”
The crowd chanted her name until she could continue the song.
Rowland, Beyonce, and Michelle Williams were formerly the group Destiny’s Child.
