Keanu Reeves, whose roles in the recent Matrix trilogy have increased his recognition, said he wants to complete another trilogy with a third installment of the Bill and Ted series.

Reeves told MTV that he would like to reprise his role as the slacker Ted Theodore Logan that he played in 1989‘s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and 1991‘s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.

He added that writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, as well as Alex Winter, who played the role of Bill S. Preston, were interested in adding to the series.

“We’re trying,” Reeves told MTV at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend. “Alex and I are still friends and we’re talking, and we’re talking to Chris and Ed. They’re going to try and see if they can write something. To me, I‘d love to play the role. I’d love to work with Alex and Chris and Ed again.”

Reeves added that he has several ideas for the film—saying in jest that the film could possibly be filmed by numerous directors including Warner Herzog, Francis Ford Coppola, and Martin Scorsese.

“We just seek to entertain, and if that could be something that could be worthwhile on its own...” Reeves said.

Keanu Reeves latest movie, Henry’s Crime, premiered on September 14, at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.
