Police said that a woman was shot near the Kean University campus in Union, New Jersey on Sunday night.
The university’s police director told NBC that after an attempted carjacking, a woman was shot in the arm. The woman drove onto campus after she had been shot, looking for help.
Sources told Pix11 said that a female female student was shot in the arm by a man in a black hat, who then fled the scene by foot.
Police are searching for the suspect, who fled on foot, in the wooded area near campus.
Emergency personnel have responded and the victim is conscious.
There hasn’t been any updates from the university itself as of yet.
