Katy Perry joined husband Russell Brand for the premiere of his new movie The Tempest at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles yesterday, Dec. 6.

The newlyweds were dressed to match in hues of grey with Brand in a velvet suit and Perry in a full lengthy, lacy dress, happily posing on the red carpet for the cameras.

The Tempest is a Julie Taymore adaptation with Helen Mirren starring as the leading character, Prospera. Felicity Jones plays daughter Mirands, while Djimon Hounsou is Caliban.

Brand, 35, plays the drunken jester Trinculo. In this version of the Shakespeare story, the struggle for power between Caliban and Prospera is one of wit.

The Tempest is set for release in U.S. theaters this Friday, Dec. 10.

Perry, 25, recently made a guest appearance in another episode of The Simpsons, "The Fight Before Christmas," with all the other characters featured as puppets.

The songstress has just added 12 more shows to the U.K. leg of her 2011 California Dreams Tour to meet the huge demand for tickets.
