Katt Williams, the comedian, was arrested on battery charges in Georgia, according to reports.

The 42-year-old has been in trouble with the law on a number of occasions. He has been arrested at least nine times since November 2006.

TMZ reported that Williams got into an altercation with a pool store employee at a location in Gainesville, Georgia.

Police sources told the site that it started with a verbal altercation before he threw an object at the employee.

Williams said he was on the ground with his hands behind his back and was apparently ready to be placed in handcuffs when police arrived on the scene.

He was taken to jail before getting released on $5,000 bond.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook told FOX5 Atlanta that Williams, who was in the store with two women, was “lying on the ground with his hands behind his back as though he was ready to go to jail.”

Holbrook said that Williams threw a pair of goggles at the employee before going behind the counter and punching him at least one time.

Officers tried to question Williams, and he told them to ask the store employee what happened.

“Williams was not forthcoming with any information,” Holbrook said, reported the Gainesville Times.
