Katheryn Deprill, a 27-year-old Allentown, PA resident, is seeking her birth mother via Facebook.

Her mother left her in a restaurant bathroom when she was very young.

The news of young Deprill being found in an Allentown Burger King made headlines 27 years ago.

Now Deprill hopes that her post and the news about her turns into better headlines, about her and her mother reuniting.

“I feel like there’s a piece of me missing,” she told WFMZ.

Deprill was put into foster care after she was found. The family eventually adopted her.

“I’m not looking to replace my brothers and sisters now or my family, my mom and dad, ‘cause it was great, we had the best childhood,” said Deprill.

Deprill is married and has three sons.

Deprill wants to know many things from her birth mother, including her medical history.

“I really want to see her and just ask her why and see if I have any brothers and sisters and anyone that looks like me,” she said, noting that she’s not angry.

“I came to realize, especially now being a mother, it’s very hard, things are very expensive and I would guess she just couldn’t give me the life that she wanted, which is why she left me in a warm, public place,” Deprill added. “I just hope that I can see her and maybe give her a hug.”

Her March 2 Facebook post has already been shared over 12,500 times, and Deprill says that people as far away as Mexico have shared it.
