Kate Winslet Reacts to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar Win

February 29, 2016 Updated: March 1, 2016

Maybe no other person, besides Leonardo DiCaprio himself, wanted him to win an oscar so badly as Kate Winslet.

In an interview with the BBC earlier this year Winslet said that she thought DiCaprio deserved to win an Oscar and would be “surprised” if he didn’t.

He had been nominated five times before finally winning the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in “The Revenant.”

The co-stars in 1997’s “Titanic” and 2008’s “Revolutionary Road” have been close friends over the years.

During DiCaprio’s acceptance speech, Winslett can be seen nearly crying clenching her two hands together.

Earlier in the evening on the red carpet, Leonardo and Winslet had a moment where they posed for photos together. A moment which has been described as the perfect Jack and Rose reunion.
