Kate Middleton is featured in a family portrait with husband Prince William and son Prince George, which has been circulating on social media services over the past couple days.
The portrait shows a smiling Kate holding a smiling George, with a happy William right behind them.
Sources told the Daily Mail that the picture was taken by photographer Jason Bell in March at the same time a series of official pictures, and was commissioned as a thank you to people involved in their tour of Australia and New Zealand.
The picture was first shared anonymously on a photo sharing website.
The photo is in a frame embossed with William and Kate’s cyphers and featuring their signatures underneath.
“I can confirm it is a photo the Duke and Duchess used as official gifts on their tour to New Zealand and Australia. It was taken by Jason Bell before the tour,” a Kensington Palace spokesman said, noting that members of the royal family often send photographs of themselves as gifts to people.
The family’s trip to Australia and New Zealand included a stop in Wellington during which the young prince interacted with other babies at a play date, and visited a number of areas in Australia including Ayers Rock.
The royals are currently planning a December trip to New York City, although they'll leave George behind this time.
