Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton are visiting the United States this week, with Kate making an appearance at child development center.

Kate suffered acute morning sickness at the start of her second pregnancy a few weeks ago, like her first. According to MailOnline, an ambulance was positioned outside a New York City child development center and was standby as a precaution for the duchess should she have any problems.

The ambulance appeared to have been merely a precaution, as Kate did not appear unwell, the report said. Kate is currently around five months pregnant. A few months ago, she suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which is a severe antenatal vomiting condition that doesn’t affect many women.

According to Us Weekly, Middleton wore all black. “It’s good to be here,” she told reporters at the child development center.

Some people came from across the country to see Kate. “I’m a huge Kate fan,” said Lauren Nichols, an Ohio resident who came to see the duchess, according to CBS Local. “I’m a mini Middleton.”

“She was like a real person, she seemed like a New Yorkers,” 9-year-old Serenity Rodriguez of New York City told the NY Daily News. “Her tone of voice was really nice. She didn’t make me feel uncomfortable.”

She made a public appearance in New York, while William flew to Washington, DC to meet with President Obama and others. William spoke with Obama on being a new father

“I remember when George was born, I forgot to work out whether it was a boy or a girl. The excitement of the event and everything else was just chaos. You are suddenly... well actually it’s a boy,” William said to the president.
