Pregnant Kate Middleton still isn’t doing so well and has elected to stay with her parents in Bucklebury for the time being.

A family friend revealed the move on Tuesday.

The friend, who decided to remain anonymous, told People magazine that Kate, 32, is “not at all well, the poor thing.”

“When you’re ill, the place you feel most comfortable is at home with your mum, isn’t it?” the source added. “When she’s there, Kate can just relax and sit on the sofa and not have to worry about having to deal with all the staff and everything else that comes with a big palace full of rooms.”

Kate has been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a sickness that some women get from being pregnant that has been described as “a horrendous, grueling, protracted condition that leaves the people who suffer from it in a horrid state.”

A source told People in late September that Kate’s health was improving, and that the Duchess was able to be up and about, though she still needed to rest frequently.

And royal aides told the Daily Mail that Kate would resume official duties soon after having to cancel multiple engagements, including her first solo trip representing the Queen.

“There will be engagements in October and November. We just haven’t announced them yet,” a spokesman said at the time.

But a source now tells People: “It’s very difficult to give a time frame for when we might see her again. But hopefully she will get better soon and will get some engagements in soon.”

Kate hasn’t been seen in public since early August.

The other big news regarding Kate and husband Prince William is that they’re planning a trip to New York City later this year.

The trip would take place in late November or early December and last for several days, with the couple traveling without Prince George, reported the Daily Mirror. But the trip could be canceled due to Kate’s up and down health.

“This trip is in the early planning phase but it’s a clear sign that she is on the mend,” a source said

“However, if there is any suggestion that the duchess isn’t well, it will be cancelled immediately.”

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson added: “Any visits are never confirmed until closer to the time. With the duchess being unwell recently we are not confirming any engagements.”
