Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting has responded for the first time to the nude photos hack that left hundreds of previously private images online, including some of hers.
There was also at least one video of the “Big Bang Theory” actress circulating online.
“I was one of the people who got hacked,” she told Jimmy Kimmel in an interview.
“It was disturbing. It’s so funny, I’m not going to lie, I totally have Google alerts that come to my phone, so anything that my name pops up it comes to my phone because I’m obsessed and need to know what’s going on. Every day there’s like 30 ‘Kaley Cuoco nude photos’--it’s been going on for years--there’s all these fake ones.”
“So then this one came up, and I was like oh it’s another fake one, and then I started getting emails like no there’s some real ones going around,” she said.
“So I looked and I was like oh my god, there are some real ones. I sent an email to my family, I said just so you know this happened, blah blah, I’m not pregnant, I’m not getting a divorce--I was able to get everything out in the email.” It was just a really bad situation, but I took it into my own hands and made a joke about it, because what are you going to do.”
Cuoco was referring to a picture she posted of her and her husband Ryan Sweeting on Instagram. They were in their bathing suits on a beach, but the picture had blurs over several sections of their bodies.
She said she used an app called Nudify, which can be used to blur out sections of photos.
Cuoco said that after the leak hit, she got help from co-stars on the Big Bang Theory between takes on filmingto choose the photo to Nudify. “You gotta make fun of yourself,” she concluded.
