Justin Amash, a Republican Rep. from Michigan, says that President Barack Obama is “setting the stage for some thing very dangerous in the future.”

Amash said that Obama is going beyond the powers that the constitution gives a president, and that it is the job of Congress to to point it out when it happens.

He said that the direction the country is going in is “scary.”

“I think it’s scary the direction the government is going, regardless of whether you have a Republican President or a Democratic President,” Amash told the Daily Caller.“We have an executive branch that is getting way to powerful, and President Obama is setting the stage for something very dangerous in the future.”

Elaborating on the role of Congress as a sort of watchdog, Amash said: “I think as a Congress we need to step up and point out and take charge and point out when the President is going beyond his constitutional powers, which is frequent, and we have got to do something about it and we haven’t done that as a Congress.”

The Daily Caller says that the full interview will be published on Monday.
