Mel Martinez, former Republican Senator and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the George W. Bush administration was hired by JPMorgan Chase & Co. as chairman and senior supervising executive for the company’s operations in Florida, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
He will be based out of its Orlando, Fla. Office."Mel has been a business and civic leader and a role model in Florida for decades,” said JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon in a statement. “He has served the people of Florida well at both the local and national level and now he will help JPMorgan Chase continue our expansion.”
