Josie Cunningham has taken to Twitter to apologize for a tweet she sent out shortly after news of Robin Williams death broke.

The U.K. mother and celebrity said: “Just to reassure my fans ;) I won’t have the same destiny as Robin Williams.” The tweet caused outrage.

“Literally so disgusted at this,” said one Twitter user.

“You are a disgusting scumbag,” said another.

“You are vile,” said another.

Cunningham later tweeted: “Bit shocked on how many people are wishing it was me over him?? Actually, I’m more baffled than shocked.”

Now she has apologized.

“Just want to apologise for my Robin Williams tweet--The point I was trying to make was no amount of online abuse you aim at me will get me to a state that I would consider taking my own life,” she said.

“From the moment Robin Williams death was announced, people saw it as a fresh angle to send me abuse--so I reacted without thought. I never apologise - but for this I am sorry. My childhood is full of memories of his amazing films!”

She also followed up with a tweet that said “One last thing, to all the haters” that had a picture of Mrs. Doubtfire giving the middle finger.
