Josh Gracin, a former American Idol contestant, posted a suicide note on Facebook, leading many to believe that he had died.

I’ve loved her for 17 years ... I made mistakes ... I admitted them, told her the truth and she turned her back on me when I needed her help the most ... I love you all .. You have given me the greatest gift,” he said on Thursday.

“You allowed me to touch your hearts with what I loved to do the most ... Please remember me as someone who gave his all in his music ... Pray for my family as they carry on in this world without me. Goodbye.”

According to TMZ, the post led police to respond to Gracin’s home in Spring Hill, Tennessee, and the website updated the story to say the 33-year-old was actually still alive and being placed on a psychiatric hold.

Later, Gracin’s manager Amy Macintosh posted a note on Gracin’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.

“This is Josh’s manager, Amy. Thank you everyone for your prayers & concern. Josh is safe & with his family now. I promise to update soon,” she said.

Meanwhile, Gracin’s concerts this month are likely canceled. The scheduled appearance in Charleston, West Virginia has already been canceled.
