Jose Jose is not dead after committing suicide, despite at least one report to the contrary.
Apparently the singer is the latest celebrity to have a hoax article claiming a death.
The hoax came from a website called Noticiero MVS, which claimed that the singer committed suicide.
The report claimed that the singer was rushed to the hospital after found in grave condition and even quotes a purported doctor who allegedly treated the 66-year-old.
But Jose Jose’s daughter Marisol called in to “Formula Espectacular” and confirmed that he’s alive and well, reported Latin Times.
She said that he’s set to give a presentation in Tijuana, Baja California soon.
A slew of Mexican celebrities have been the subject of false death reports lately. Lupillo Rivera was reported dead by one website, which used fake images that appeared to be from Telemundo but were actually made up.
Rivera was prompted to declare himself alive, first in a tweet and then in a Facebook video.
His mother later said that she found the hoax disturbing.
