Jon Gosselin, the former star of the popular “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” is now working as a waiter as has been doing so for much of 2013, living in a cabin in the woods without television or the Internet.
Gosselin is now working at a restaurant in Pennsylvania, after he and his wife divorced in 2009. The show was later called “Kate Plus 8,” but was canceled shortly after.
Kate Gosselin and her eight children are living in their family mansion while Jon is living in the cabin.
He told “Entertainment Tonight” that it is difficult for him to find work.
“At first I was nervous because I was like, ‘How are people going to react?’” Gosselin said regarding working at a restaurant, according to “Entertainment Tonight.”
He added, “But then I’m thinking, ‘Well it’s fun and I get to talk to people.’ And they technically already know me. They’re like, ‘Are you the guy?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m the guy.’”
He said that he had no regrets about working on the TV show.
“I don’t regret anything,” he said. “You learn from your mistakes. That’s what builds you to who you are today.”
According to USA Today, he greets customers like this: “Hi, Welcome to Black Dog. My name’s Jon. Ready to order?”
He stressed that he wasn’t struggling to make ends meet, saying he likes working as a waiter.
In June, he told VH1 that he doesn’t have an address and is off the grid to avoid paparazzi.
