Johnny Depp’s Whitey Bulger performance won’t happen, according to a report on Thursday.
Johnny Depp has left a movie project that would see him play Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources said that Depp will not partake in “Black Mass” due to a salary dispute.
Depp was slated to have been paid his usual salary of $20 million but sources said the film’s producers were looking to trim the movie’s budget to around $60 million. Depp refused after he was asked to take half his normal salary.
Deadline.com reported that Depp has “become shaky” on the film and said it was not clear if he would appear in the project or not.
Depp is currently working on the science fiction film “Transcendence,” but he will be in “The Lone Ranger,” which opens on July 3.
