John W. Henry, the owner of the Boston Red Sox, now owns the Boston Globe and Boston.com, according to reports on Thursday.
Boston.com’s Twitter account confirmed that the deal was finalized.
“BREAKING: The sale is done; @John_W_Henry now owns @BostonGlobe,” reads a tweet from the newspaper.
Other details were not made immediately available.
The newspaper went on sale earlier this year.
