Joe Flacco‘R-word’: Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco signed an agreement to not use the “R-word,” or the word “retarded,” according to reports.
Flacco drew criticism after he described cold-weather Super Bowl venues as “retarded” several months ago. “I guess I shouldn’t say that [word],” he later said in attempting to correct himself.
Flacco and teammates Ed Dickson and Gino Gradkowski signed a deal with the Maryland office of the Special Olympics to not use the word, according to its Twitter feed.
The organization posted a picture of Flacco, Dickson, and Gradkowski holding their pledges.
