Joe Biden borrowed $10 during his jaunt to Capriotti’s, a Delaware-based sandwich shop chain that just opened a location in Washington D.C.

Counting out money for the $56.25 bill, Biden found out he was short, and turned to an aide.

“Fran, you got ten bucks?” he said.

An employee had told Biden that one of the subs Biden had ordered could be comped, reported USA Today, but Biden refused.

“I’m not taking it,” Biden said. “You know what, I’ve been going to Capriotti’s on Union Street (in Wilmington) for the last 40 years. I have paid every time I’ve gone.”

He added: “In Delaware, you pay. It’s simple.”
