Judge Postpones Jodi Arias Hearing

The sentencing hearing for convicted killer Jodi Arias was postponed until Tuesday, according to a live stream of the proceedings.

It was reported that Arias will be testifying at the hearing tomorrow over the murder of her former boyfriend, Travis Alexander. 

The lawyers for Arias refused to call up any witnesses and the judge refused to allow them to call a mistrial and resign, reported USA Today.

The proceedings were halted by Judge Sherry Stephens, who told the jury to return on Tuesday morning.

Defense attorney Kirk Nurmi said that Arias will speak to the jury, according to the paper.

A witness in the case, Patricia Womack, withdrew her testimonial on Arias’s behalf after she received death threats, according to Azcentral.com, citing Nurmi.

“Threats that included threats on her life if she were to testify on Ms. Arias’ behalf,” Nurmi wrote in a motion, according to the website.

Arias previously said that she would rather die than spend the rest of her life in prison.
