Jimmy Kimmel’s Baby Is ‘Doing Great’ After Heart Surgery

Jimmy Kimmel, on Friday, July 21, gave an update on his 3-month-old son Billy on Twitter and shared a picture of his baby.

“Billy is 3 months old & doing great. Thx for the love & support. Please remind your Congress people that every kid deserves the care he got,” tweeted Kimmel.

Kimmel’s wife Molly McNearney also tweeted a photo of Billy, saying “Billy’s looking out for a lot of his buddies at Children’s Hospital. Remind your Congresspeople to protect them.”

Billy was born with a rare heart condition called tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia according to Scientific American. He underwent open-heart surgery only three days after his birth.

“In layman’s terms, the pulmonary valve was completely blocked and he has a hole in the wall between the left and right (ventricles) of his heart,” said Kimmel. “It’s a terrifying thing. ”

Kimmel first revealed Billy’s health condition in May with an emotional 13-minute monologue on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!.”

Six days after Billy’s operation, he was able to come home, said Kimmel.
