Jimmy Kimmel’s Halloween 2013 involved making little children cry by telling parents to say they ate all their candy.

It was the third year in a row that Kimmel pulled the stunt.

“For kids, Halloween candy is a sacred thing. For a lot of them, it’s the first time they ever earn anything,” he said.

The parents pranked their children and then uploaded their reactions on YouTube. Kimmel’s team then compiled them and showed it on his ABC show this week.

The reactions usually involve tears or cries of “I HATE YOU!” but are nonetheless humorous.

Following the video’s conclusion, Kimmel added, “Thanks to all the kids and their terrible parents who pitched in.”
