Jimmy Fallon as Donald Trump Converses With President Barack Obama
Here’s a conversation to eavesdrop on—President Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
President Obama (Dion Flynn) engaged in a hilarious phone conversation with Donald Trump, played by Jimmy Fallon, on “The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
The May 4 airing began with President Obama marking off his final days as commander-in-chief.
“180 days left in this hell—180 days left,” sings Obama. “Play some golf, waste a little time. I don’t know what I’ll do with my time.”
He then receives a phone call from Trump, who oddly congratulates the 44th president for having reached the presumptive Republican candidate. As the two exchange small talk, Trump informs Obama that once he becomes the 45th president “America is going to start winning and winning bigly.”
However, there is one man standing in Trump’s way and it isn’t John Kasich. It’s Hillary Clinton. The presumptive Democratic candidate, however, isn’t competition for Trump because she’s unable to put away “glitter” Bernie Sanders.
Trump compares Sanders to Jon Snow of “Game of Thrones,” who died and came back to life the following season, while Obama complains to Trump about revealing the spoiler, referencing the fact that the president’s favorite show is Game of Thrones.
The conversation turns to Obama advising Trump with ways to behave presidential. When asked about his Vice President prospects, The Donald doesn’t want a politician that complements him—he wants one that compliments him.
“Donald, you’re great. Donald, you’re fantastic,” says Trump. “Donald, you’re the best Donald to have ever Donalded it.”
It wasn’t all ego boosting for Trump. He also compliments Obama on his White House Correspondent Dinner speech, which he describes as “hilarious.”
But if all else fails, he’d consider the former president as his vice president. It’s an offer Obama emphatically declines.
“In eight months, I am going to be on the beach—taking pills in Ibiza. Eating cake by the ocean,” he says describing his post-presidential plans. “Obama out!” he says as he drops the mic.
