Jimmy Dean, country music star, actor, and king of sausage production, died in Virginia Monday. He was 81.

Dean passed away peacefully in his home located in Henrico County, Virginia from what appeared to be natural causes. Dean lived a long life that included success in two different industries. Dean first achieved success as a country singer and television personality in the 1960s. With his earnings from entertainment Dean was able to start his currently successful line of sausage made by his company, appropriately titled Jimmy Dean Foods. Dean was featured on CBS’s “Country Style” before making a name for himself as a singer and actor, reported the Washington Post.

Jimmy Dean Foods, Inc. was started in 1968. The company makes a long line of sausages, bacon, and microwave sandwiches that have been popular in the U.S. for over over 40 years. The company is located in Tennessee. Dean also featured himself in most of the company’s advertising helping to boost the notoriety of the company and give the brand a country western feel.

Jimmy Dean was raised to fame following his hit single “Big Bad John.” Dean made a few television appearances in the 60s that lead to his role in the 1971 James Bond film “Diamonds Are Forever.”

Dean was recently inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame earlier this year. No word has been given regarding memorial services for the sausage king whose personal worth was $75 million, reported Business Week.
