The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office issued a joke message to The Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore, including a fake “trespass warning.”

“Everyone know[s] what’s in store when Jim Cantore shows up. So we issued a little notice,” reads the SRSO Facebook post on Oct. 8.
The office makes it clear that the warning isn’t real, saying: “This is not a real trespass. We like Jim, just not under these conditions,” according to the Pensacola News Journal.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) has warned that the storm is forecast to hit the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend area by the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 10.

Mandatory evacuations have been issued for much of northwestern Florida.

As of 1 p.m. on Oct. 9, the storm had Category 2 strength, but it is predicted to strengthen to a Category 3 major hurricane.

“On the forecast track, the center of Michael will move across the eastern Gulf of Mexico through tonight. The center of Michael is then expected to move inland over the Florida Panhandle or Florida Big Bend area on Wednesday, and then move northeastward across the southeastern United States Wednesday night and Thursday, and move off the Mid-Atlantic coast away from the United States by Friday,” the NHC said at 1 p.m.
The Florida Disaster website on Oct. 9 also stated that parts or all of Bay County, Citrus County, Franklin County, Dixie County, Gulf County, Jackson County, Levy County, Okaloosa County, Taylor County, Wakulla County, and Walton County have mandatory evacuation orders. Escambia County, Santa Rosa County, Pasco County, Madison County, Liberty County Leon County, Hernando County, Gadsden County, and Calhoun County are under voluntary/phased evacuation orders, according to the website.
