A machine gun was found in JFK Airport’s Terminal One on Thursday, prompting an investigation into how it got past security and who owns the gun.
The gun, a Mac-11 (a subcompact machine pistol), was found during renovation on Terminal One on Thursday inside of a closet, reported ABC.
The terminal is international, used by Air France and Turkish Airlines, among other companies.
Port Authority police are investigating where the gun came from and how long its been in the closet.
The gun was in a plastic case without ammunition.
